Though the two terms are often reflected to mean the same, they differ in words of their functions.

Definition:- Recruitment is a process of looking for potential employees and inspiring them to apply for the open position while staffing is a process of employment, development, acquisition, and retention of people in an organization.
Scope:- Recruitment is not as comprehensive as staffing. Recruitment involves a single step, while staffing consists of a series of essential steps in recruitment being one of them.
Function:- Recruitment is a part of staffing, while staffing is a significant function of management.
Duration:- Recruitment is a short term process while staffing is a long term and constant process.
Stage of occurrence:- Recruitment occurs in the early stages of employment while staffing occurs in all stages despite levels in an organization.

Hence, it is essential to consistently incorporate new and talented employees within the organization, as well as retain the existing hardworking employees.
